Inclusivity

It’s really important to me that my studio is a safe and inclusive space for everyone. I don’t care if your dangly bits are on top, on bottom (or behind!), where you are on any spectrum, who you chose to love, what you identify as or where you are from. You will be welcomed into a cosy and relaxed environment and looked after with zero judgement. Everyone deserves a bit of selfcare and a moment of calm and escape from busy lives.

So come as you are and get fabulous nails…

No Back-to-Back Scheduling

I want your experience (and mine) to be relaxed and so I’m not tolerating a queue, clock watching and/or rushing. You want to sit and chill after your service or have a cuppa until the rain stops? Totally fine. You will never have to share my salon space with another client or have me leave your service to let someone else in.

Q. How do back-to-back schedulers do proper hygiene changeovers in between clients?

A. They don’t.

Parking Perks

It’s an absolute nightmare to park in Dunfermline to visit a city centre salon (not to mention the parking fees). Made even more annoying when the weather is crap. I offer a city centre location with a dedicated parking space for clients.

Safety, Quality & Ethics

My training was ABT accredited and I’m fully insured. I use award-winning tools from Navy Professional, a medical-grade hygiene system and my dust extraction equipment is HEPA-rated.

My principal gel brands are Glossify and Enoi whose products are meticulously tested to ensure the highest quality and performance. All of my product & equipment partners are female-founded and are certified as vegan and cruelty-free.

I’m qualified to safely perform soft gel/BIAB manicures and pedicures, Russian manicures and use an e-file on hands and feet.

Japanese techniques

I aim to create nails which are timeless and sophisticated. I’ve invested heavily in learning, Japanese gels, speciality art materials and inks so I can flawlessly create textured and multi-dimensional looks.  I love how beautiful and abstract traditional Japanese nuance nails are, you can literally be inspired by anything– fabric, landscape, feelings and senses. I also love that metallics, especially gold, feature heavily and make for a luxe and otherworldly look. Yes, it’s niche, but I also do a mean French and I’m happy to do more simple looks too. Be warned, once you’ve had a taste of nuance, especially cat-eyes, it’s very hard to go back to flat manis!!

No Tip Policy

Tipping is awkward for everyone. Sometimes you can afford to tip and other times you can’t but do it once and you feel obliged. If you don’t tip, you worry that you are causing offence. And, how the heck do you work out how much to leave? None of this feels like the experience I want to create at Amelia M and so I will never take a tip from any client. My pricing structure will be published and transparent so you will know, before booking, exactly what your service will cost. Remember, the greatest reward for me is you booking back in!

Extreme flexibility

I offer day, evening and weekend appointments and, as I work from home, last minute bookings can be accommodated. My first appointment is 10am and my last appointment is 7pm – 7 days a week. I work 2 Sundays in 4.

Can’t get childcare? I welcome well-behaved little ones, I have a TV in the salon, just bring some toys if needed. Being a mum can be isolating, as can putting everyone else first, treating yourself to some “me-time” can be a great pick me up.

Silent Appointments

Please do not hesitate to ask for a silent appointment, these can be so relaxing if you’re introverted, anxious, mentally drained, neurodiverse etc. I appreciate small talk can be really annoying and so I’m happy to avoid conversation and give you some well-earned quiet time. You will never have to share my salon with another client which is ideal if you’re noise sensitive. Find total silence awkward? All clients have the option of any channel on the salon Sky TV – immerse yourself in your fave show, stream or listen to your preferred sounds.

Rewarding Loyalty

When you choose to trust me with your nails it means the absolute world. I wanted the Amelia M Loyalty Scheme to be as generous a thank you as I could manage.

  • 1 free service per year - If you visit the salon 11 times, your 12 visit is on me.

  • If you refer a new client, who visits 3 times, you’ll receive £20 off your service.  

  • If you review Amelia M on Google, you’ll receive £5 off your service. (1 review reward per client).
